Choosing Where to Buy Your Wavve Boating Membership on an Android Phone
Both routes give you the same Wavve Boating app on your Android phone. The difference is in how the membership is handled: a membership bought on the web supports cross-platform access with the same Wavve Boating account credentials, while one bought through Google Play is also subject to Google’s rules for its purchases.
If you expect to stay on Android phones and tablets, buying through Google Play keeps billing inside the store you already use. If you may move to an iPhone later, or want to use Wavve on both an Android phone and an iPhone, the web membership fits that case. Before relying on a Google Play purchase to carry over to another platform, ask Wavve’s Customer Success team.
Wavve says the purchase platform can affect billing, cancellation, refunds, promotional offers and subscription-management options. Promo codes from Wavve’s partners, such as boat clubs, vary by partner and location and are redeemed through Wavve’s website, not through Google Play. If a boat club or another partner has given you a promo code, that alone points you to the web.
A web membership is bought on Wavve’s own website rather than in the Play Store. You then sign in to the app on your Android phone with your Wavve Boating account credentials, and that account is what lets a web membership reach other platforms. A Google Play purchase is made in the Play Store and stays subject to Google’s rules for billing and subscription management. Wavve’s support pages say one subscription can be used on multiple devices that share an operating system, which covers an Android phone and an Android tablet; moving across platforms is what the web membership and its account credentials are for.
Either way, Wavve Boating is a paid membership, Monthly or Annual: the Annual membership is the best value and the most popular choice, and the Monthly membership is flexible month-to-month access that suits shorter seasons. The app is free to download from Google Play, and the same app runs on Android phones and tablets. Customers selecting an Annual membership can try Wavve Boating free for 14 days, so you can test it on the water before you commit.
You cancel from the Me Tab in the app. Cancelling stops the membership from renewing at the end of the current billing period, and you keep using Wavve for the time you have already paid for. Memberships cannot be paused on either route.
